About Your
Labor and Delivery
Plan
Dear Patients of the Women’s Health Center at North Central Bronx Hospital:
We want to inform you of an important change in service delivery. Until further notice, beginning on Monday, August 12th,
the Labor and Delivery, Nursery, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Postpartum services at North Central Bronx Hospital (NCBH)
will be MOVED to Jacobi Medical Center (Jacobi). We would very much like you to deliver your baby at Jacobi. You can
continue to receive all of your outpatient appointments and Fetal Assessment (or ultrasound) appointments at NCBH. After you
deliver your baby, you can also get your follow up post-partum and your newborn’s pediatric visits at NCBH.
When you are in labor, or if you feel you need to be seen by a doctor for a pregnancy complaint that cannot be performed in your
doctors office, please go to Jacobi. At Jacobi you will see many familiar faces, because you will see many of the staff who cared
for you at NCBH. They will be able to deliver your baby at Jacobi.
Jacobi Medical Center is located at 1400 Pelham Parkway South, Bronx New York 10461
Jacobi has a large campus with many different buildings. Monday through Friday you enter the hospital through Building #8. On
Saturday and Sunday and during evening hours, you should enter the hospital through Building #6. When you are in Building #8
or Building #6, someone will direct you to Building #1. Then take the elevator in Building #1 to the 7th floor. Follow signs to the
Triage and Evaluation area. If you believe your labor is imminent, call 911 or go directly to the Emergency Room at Jacobi. We
apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you. We wish you good health and a safe delivery of your baby.
With warm wishes,
The Women’s Health Services Staff at North Central Bronx Hospital
