Hi Craig,
I quite enjoy the AeroCrew newsleer and in parcular, the informaon grid on
the dierent airlines. However, I would ask that you provide rst and second
year FO pay informaon for each of the airlines. This informaon is extremely
important for pilots considering a move to a new airline and whether they can
actually aord to make a parcular move or whether they’ll need to move back in
with their parents for a year.
Cheers,
James
James,
We are working on adding another secon that will enable you to view the pay
charts and other informaon on each airline. Once this is completed we will
announce it on the cover of the magazine.

ExpressJet was a great regional airline yesterday, and
today we’re even better.
On Feb. 17, ExpressJet pilots voted in extensions to our
existing, separate contracts that provide an unmatched
total compensation package while retaining superior work
rules that dene who we are as an organization. Our rst
year rst ofcers will now make $37-40/hr, depending
on equipment. We increased per diem to $1.85/hr,
with another increase to $1.90/hr 18 months from date
of signing, bumped up our pay scales at all levels, and
enhanced our prot share program. Additionally, the
contract extensions reect improvements to our already
industry-leading work rules.
Just a few days later, we announced a partnership with
United through a Pilot Career Pathway Program that offers
a guaranteed interview to eligible ExpressJet pilots, and
a set number of slots held for our pilots. We expect 1 in
4 new rst ofcers at United to be hired from ExpressJet.

Endeavor Air Proves Performance Maers, Delivers Strong
Results in 2015
Its late January, and forecasts along the Eastern Seaboard
are calling for ice, record-seng snowfall and blizzard-like
condions from the middle of Virginia to midtown Manhaan.
Flights in and out of the busiest airspace in North America are
being impacted while members of the Endeavor Air Dispatch
and Crew Scheduling teams work on conngency plans to
adjust the operaon to migate the brunt of the storm. Within
48 hours of the rst snowake falling, Endeavor had already
adjusted the roung of its roughly 120 aircra eet to avoid
being snowed under—a tacc that meant Endeavor was among
the rst to operate once the storm passed.
While Endeavor, a wholly owned subsidiary of Delta Air
Lines, took 416 mainline-requested and weather cancellaons
during Winter Storm Jonas, the carrier did not incur a single
controllable cancellaon – a canceled ight an airline takes due
to crew scheduling or maintenance issues. During what was
one of the worst storms on record to hit the East Coast and
New York City where Endeavor operates crew bases in both
JFK and LGA the company was able to recover and resume
normal operaons within hours aer the storm cleared the
coast and headed into the Northern Atlanc Ocean.
Events like this seldom knock Endeavor o course, though.
In fact, for the month of January, extending all the way to
February 12, the airline didn’t take a single controllable
cancellaon a stretch of 43 days, 18 hours, and six minutes,
or 21,873 consecuve ights.
Endeavor in 2015 recorded stretches of 10 or more
days without a single controllable cancellaon seven mes
– highlighted by a 42 day stretch during the peak summer
months, including a perfect 100 percent CCF in July, 2015. In
total, the airline delivered 281 days of 100 percent CCF, with
157 of those days recorded as 100 percent compleon factor
(CF) – a day with zero total cancellaons.

Performance-Driven Customer Service
Industry-leading operaonal performance is something its
3,700 employees are commied to. Endeavor oers a wide
range of opportunies for career-focused aviaon professionals.
From maintenance posions out in the eld keeping its eet
healthy and airborne, to a seat at the controls of a NextGen
aircra that makes up the largest eet of Bombardier CRJ-
900 aircra in the world, employees who join Endeavor are
welcomed into an environment that allows them to thrive.
“While performance is a key metric for us, we’re looking for
professionals who live and breathe the customer experience,
noted John Daly, Endeavors Chief Operang Ocer. “From day
one, when you join Endeavor, you noce the dierence in how
we deliver for our customers.
New employees learn about Endeavors Foundaon of
Flight, a handbook that serves as the guiding mantra by which
all employees are expected to serve. Outlining the airline’s
Mission Statement, Core Values, and several key guiding
principles, the value of people is emphasized and engrained
in everyone at Endeavor. That loyalty to each other and to
Endeavors customers builds the trust that drives such stellar
performance.
“By taking care of each other, says Ryan Gumm, President
and CEO, Endeavor Air. “We understand what it takes to take
care of our customers.
That customer, on a macro-level, is Delta Air Lines. On the
front lines, Endeavor aims to deliver a seamless product for
Delta customers who step across the threshold of an Endeavor
regional jet to connect with their mainline ights at many of
the major bases Delta serves. From gate to gate, Endeavor
places a major emphasis on communicaon, cleanliness, and
ancipang the needs of a customer before they need them.
Growing Opportunies
By delivering the consistent, reliable performance Endeavor
registers each day, the airline is planning to expand the reach
of its network to deliver even greater impact for Delta. In
early 2016, Endeavor announced it would be adding at least
17 addional CRJ-200 aircra to its eet, increasing its total
aircra to at least 134 airplanes.
This growth is creang an increased demand for pilots,
ight aendants, mechanics and support sta at Endeavor’s
Minneapolis-based headquarters. The company recently
announced a goal of hiring at least 720 pilots, 400 ight
aendants and more than 200 Aviaon Maintenance
Technicians and stores clerks in 2016.
“Endeavor has become the benchmark for Delta’s regional
product, which will provide addional growth opportunies
in the future, noted Ryan Gumm. We’re always looking at
opportunies to support Delta’s regional ying, which may
include growth beyond that CRJ-200 product.

Endeavor oers innovave incenves for prospecve
aviaon professionals to join the team. Whether it’s the
Delta Guaranteed Interview Program, which allows Endeavor
to oer pilots the only dened career path to Delta, or the
Endeavor Priority Resume Review Program for mechanics,
which gives Endeavor employees a preferred screening priority
over external candidates for Delta AMT and ASM posions,
Endeavors relaonship as Delta’s wholly-owned regional
airline aords candidates a strong career path for those looking
to expand their reach beyond Endeavor.
Why Choose Endeavor?
Pilots starng their path to a mainline carrier are enjoying
the fruits of a favorable job market. Whether they want
earnings potenal, upgrade potenal, or career progression,
many regional carriers are pitching similar messages. However,
what Endeavor can oer a prospecve pilot is something no
other carrier can match – support, stability and security.
Support – Endeavor is commied to delivering a family-
like culture rooted in professionalism, respect, and support
for all 3,700 employees across its network. By oering a work
environment that mirrors its mainline partner, Endeavor is
able to provide an operaon that adheres to its values, while
following its company Flight Plan.
Stability – Endeavor is on a posive growth trajectory aer
stabilizing its eet strategy, and delivering a consistent, reliable
product that Delta’s customers can count on. Recently praised
as the “Gold standard of regional airlines” by Gil West, Delta’s
Chief Operang Ocer, Endeavor has the commitment of Delta
to grow Endeavor and make the carrier its preferred regional
carrier. The future oers unparalleled opportunies for aspiring
aviaon professionals.
Security Having secured its place as the best performing
regional carrier, Endeavor has solidied its place in crical
network locaons for Delta. With the healthiest eet, most
reliable employees and consistent results, Endeavor will
connue to be a strong and secure regional carrier.
March 2016 11
For pilots looking to start or connue their
career in the regional industry, there isn’t an
airline that can oer the type of compensaon
package that Endeavor oers over the rst
three years with the company. When all
training and retenon payments are factored
in, a rst year pilot at Endeavor can earn at
least $50,000; over the rst three years, that
same pilot could earn at least $159,000
before upgrade. With upgrade mes rapidly
falling, a pilot hired today could expect to
upgrade and move on to Delta through the
DGI Program within ve years.

Pre Interview:
Craig: How do you select applicants to be brought in for an
interview?
Lindsey: At Endeavor Air, candidates are selected to be brought
in for an interview based on a review of their applicaon
and qualicaons that meet the First Ocer job
requirements posted in the job descripon on our
EndeavorAir.com career website.
C: Can you explain the point system associated with online
applicaon process and what types of things count for
points?
L: Endeavor Air does not use a point system associated with
our online applicaon process. However, we do have a
structured internal review and checklist of the applicaon.
C: What can an applicant do to increase their chances of
being called for an interview?
L: An applicant can increase their chances for being
considered for an interview by ensuring the online
applicaon and addendum is lled out completely.
Aenon to detail and thoroughness to ensure clear and
concise informaon on the applicants background and
experience is always taken into consideraon.
C: How crical is it to aend a job fair to get an interview?
L: Aending a job fair is always a great opportunity for
applicants to meet and obtain more informaon about
Endeavor Air and our First Ocer Posion. In 2016, our
Pilot Outreach Team will be aending more than 150 job
fairs, university events, and ight academies. It is not
crical to aend a job fair to get an interview. An applicant
is welcome to call into the Pilot Recruitment Team hotline
Monday-Friday at 612-266-1470. Our phones are staed
by Endeavor pilots, not HR recruiters, who are happy to
answer any and all quesons.
C: What is the best way to prepare for an interview with
Endeavor Air?
L: The best way to prepare for an interview is to be well
prepared and be able to speak in detail about your
educaon, training and work experience. We also look to
hear about a candidate’s exceponal customer service
experiences. We want a candidate who understands that
becoming a pilot at Endeavor is about more than just ying
the aircra.
Interview:
C: Do you recommend that applicants get to your headquarters
city the day before and get a hotel room for the night?
L: At Endeavor, we provide our candidates with a professional
and thoughul experience. Therefore, candidate’s travel
arrangements for air, ground and hotel are made and
paid for by Endeavor. This allows our candidates to be well
rested, relaxed and prepared to share their experience and
training. In return, Endeavor wants to share our hospitality
and companys great culture. The spirit of our team will
show you that the decisions you make today will provide
you with a great future tomorrow.
C: Can you walk me through a typical day of interviews?
L: A typical interview day starts with our Pilot Recruitment
team welcoming new candidates at the door with a
company escort into our Endeavor Air Headquarters in
Minneapolis. We start the visit with a company presentaon
by our Pilots, followed by a queson and answer session.
We move on to the face to face Interview with our Pilot
Recruitment Team, concluding with an evaluaon and
determinaon/outcome of the interview. If the candidate
is successful in earning a Conngent Job Oer (CJO), we
will work with the candidate to idenfy their class date.
Lunch is provided, followed with a company provided taxi
back to the airport and a conrmed plane cket back
home.
C: What kind of quesons can an applicant expect to be
asked?
L: Endeavor asks quesons about Educaon and previous
Work History, Behavioral and Situaonal quesons,
Systems and Technical quesons and we follow up with a
reading of an Approach Chart and Weather Reports.
C: Can you give me some examples of the TMAAT quesons
that you like to ask?
L: Tell me about a me you were supposed to y and didn’t
go. Describe the situaon – detail the acon and steps you
took – tell me about the result and outcome?
C: If the TMAAT queson being asked does not apply to that
applicant can that queson be skipped?
L: The quesons asked by Endeavor interviewers apply to a
broad Pilot applicant pool.
Interview with Lindsey Dam, Manager, Pilot Recruitment, Endeavor Air
March 2016 13
C: What are some of the biggest mistakes that applicants
make during the interview process?
L: For any interview, mistakes can be avoided – or at least
minimized – by being well prepared to speak on behalf of
your educaon, training and work experience. Calm those
nerves and be prepared.
Post Interview:
C: Do you tell applicants they are hired in person that day?
L: Endeavors interview process includes making a CJO of
Employment the day of the interview.
C: How soon can an applicant expect a class date aer being
hired?
L: Upon receiving a CJO, Endeavor will work with the
candidate to select a class date before leaving the
headquarters. Endeavor oering classes through
December 2016. Depending upon availability a start date
could be scheduled as soon as two weeks out.
General:
C: How many pilots does your airline expect to hire this year?
L: Endeavor plans to hire 720 pilots in 2016.
C: Can you explain the ATP-CTP class that your company
oers?
L: At Endeavor, we oer the ATP-CTP class to pilots who
meet the course requirement criteria and who have been
oered a Conngent Job Oer to join the company.
Endeavor pays for the ATP-CTP course, Airfare and Hotel
while aending the class.
C: Do you have a hiring bonus? Is there any specic criterion
to qualify for the bonus?
L: Endeavor oers an industry leading compensaon
package of more than $50,000 in total annual earnings for
rst year pilots. This package includes $23,000 in
addional income every year through December 2018 for
all Pilots. The schedule of these payouts for addional
income is pursuant to the provisions of Endeavors
contractual Pilot Retenon Program.
C: Does Endeavor Air have a pilot referral program?
L: Yes. Endeavor oers all employees a $2,000 Pilot Referral
Bonus, paid upon that candidate’s successful compleon
of ight training. In fact, in 2015, Endeavor paid out nearly
$180,000 in bonuses to Endeavor employees who referred
a Pilot that successfully completed training. Please read
more about how you can parcipate on EndeavorAir.com,
under Careers - Pilot Referral.
C: Can you describe the career path program that Endeavor
has with Delta Air Lines?
L: Endeavor is proud to be the only regional airline to oer a
dened career path to Delta Air Lines. Endeavors Delta
Guaranteed Interview Program allows new hire Pilots
to y at Endeavor and then earn a guaranteed interview.
Once a Pilot meets all program guidelines and Delta
qualicaons, which include serving two years as a Captain
at Endeavor, Endeavor pilots will be eligible to interview at
Delta. Once oered a mainline CJO, successful Endeavor
pilots will begin their career with Delta. If a Pilot wants to
y for Delta, there is no beer path that ying with

D
elta is marking a major milestone in the place it has now
called home for three quarters of a century. The airline’s
move to Atlanta on March 1, 1941, fueled Delta’s growth
from a regional carrier to the world’s second-largest airline.
At the same me, Delta’s climb helped transform the city and
region into an economic and cultural powerhouse.
Delta employs tens of thousands of Georgians its among
the state’s top private employers – and contributes millions of
dollars and countless employee volunteer hours to charies
and organizaons throughout the Atlanta metro area.
“Delta’s success and Atlanta’s success have been intertwined
for 75 years,said Ed Basan, Delta’s President and incoming
CEO. “Key to this success has been the historic partnership
between Delta, the city of Atlanta, the state of Georgia and our
thousands of Atlanta-based employees and customers.
Gov. Nathan Deal said Delta’s economic impact on Georgia
has been enormous.
Delta and Atlanta
A transformative 75-year partnership
By Shannon Ledwich
“Georgia has a longstanding and highly successful
partnership with Delta Air Lines that has helped both of us grow
and ourish over the past 75 years, said Deal. The massive
economic impact and multude of jobs Delta has provided to
Georgians have been crical to the state’s prosperity. We are
proud the world’s second-largest airline calls Georgia home
and look forward to this excellent corporate cizen reaching
even greater heights.
Delta was a small carrier focused on the Southeast its
slogan was The Airline of the South”- when its founder, C.E.
Woolman, moved its headquarters from Monroe, La., to Atlanta
75 years ago. It was a decision that would link Delta and Atlanta
– altering the course of both – forever.
In 1941, Delta was awarded a major route expansion from
Atlanta northward to Knoxville, Tenn., and Cincinna, and to
Savannah southward. At the me, Atlanta’s mayor, William
B. Hartseld, was working on extensive improvements to the
citys airport, Candler Field, in an eort to turn it into a major
aviaon center.
March 2016 15
Realizing the potenal the citys locaon and ambion
presented to further the young airline’s growth, Woolman
and Hartseld agreed for the city to lease land to Delta for
$2,500 a year and provide $50,000 to help build Hangar One
and aached oce building, which cost a total of a $127,250.
Hangar Two was built a few years later.
Today, those original aircra maintenance hangars are
home to the Delta Flight Museum. In 2011, the locaon was
designated a Historic Aerospace Site.
In the last 75 years, Atlanta has blossomed into an
internaonal city thats home to major sports teams, world-
renowned research facilies, Fortune 500 companies, the
recent lm industry boom thats earned it the nickname “the
Hollywood of the South” and the world’s busiest airport by
passenger volume.
Now with more than 30,000 Delta employees based in
Atlanta, the airline’s main hub of Hartseld-Jackson Atlanta
Internaonal Airport is esmated to pump $65 billion into the
local economy.
“For the past 75 years, Delta Air Lines has been a leader in
the global aviaon industry, and we are proud to have them
as our hometown carrier, said Hartseld-Jackson General
Manager Miguel Southwell. As the rst airport in the world
to serve more than 100 million passengers, Delta’s success and
support have been instrumental in making Hartseld-Jackson
Atlanta Internaonal Airport the world’s most traveled and
most ecient airport.
Delta also plays an important role in its hometown
community, contribung to numerous organizaons, including
the Atlanta Business League, the Atlanta Community Food Bank,
Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Covenant House of Georgia,
Habitat for Humanity Internaonal, Junior Achievement,
KaBOOM!, Marine Toys for Tots, Metro Atlanta Chamber, the
Naonal Center for Civil and Human Rights, the United Way of
Greater Atlanta, the Woodru Arts Center and the YMCA.
For example, Delta employees have built more than 230
Habitat houses in metro Atlanta during the past 14 years. And
just last year, Atlanta employees donated 4,435 pints of blood
to the American Red Cross, helping Delta become the sixth-
largest corporate donor in the U.S.
Delta and The Delta Foundaon also sponsor key higher
educaon instuons including Georgia Tech, Georgia State and
the University of Georgia, as well as scholarships at Morehouse
College, Spelman College and Clark Atlanta University.
Connuing to raise the bar on its seven decades of success,
Delta ew into the history books with a record-breaking 2015.
Last year, the airline reported a historic pre-tax prot of $5.9
billion and led the industry in operaonal excellence with a
record 214 days with zero domesc mainline cancellaons and
a strong on-me rate of 85.9 percent.
Last month, Delta gave its employees $1.5 billion in prot
sharing, the largest bonus payout in U.S. history including
$540 million in metro Atlanta alone. And just last week the
airline pledged to donate 1 percent of net income to charies
around the world.
“Delta’s brand is synonymous with Georgia, and aer 75
years, we are prouder than ever to have Delta’s headquarters
in our state,” said U.S. Sen. Johnny Isakson, R-Ga. “Delta’s
corporate cizenship is a great asset to our state and I look
forward to seeing what the next 75 years bring.
Delta Air Lines serves nearly 180 million customers each
year. Delta was named to FORTUNE magazine’s top 50 World’s
Most Admired Companies in addion to being named the most
admired airline for the fourth me in ve years. Addionally,
Delta has ranked No.1 in the Business Travel News Annual
Airline survey for an unprecedented ve consecuve years.
With an industry-leading global network, Delta and the Delta
Connecon carriers oer service to 327 desnaons in 57
countries on six connents. Headquartered in Atlanta, Delta
employs nearly 80,000 employees worldwide and operates a
mainline eet of more than 800 aircra. The airline is a founding
member of the SkyTeam global alliance and parcipates in the
industry’s leading trans-Atlanc joint venture with Air France-
KLM and Alitalia as well as a joint venture with Virgin Atlanc.
Including its worldwide alliance partners, Delta oers customers
more than 15,000 daily ights, with key hubs and markets
including Amsterdam, Atlanta, Boston, Detroit, Los Angeles,
Minneapolis/St. Paul, New York-JFK and LaGuardia, London-
Heathrow, Paris-Charles de Gaulle, Salt Lake City, Seale and
Tokyo-Narita. Delta has invested billions of dollars in airport
facilies, global products and services, and technology to
enhance the customer experience in the air and on the ground.

Interview with A.W. “Arnie” Kraby, Manager - Pilot Selecon
Pre Interview:
Craig: How do you select applicants to be brought in for an
interview?
Arnie: All applicaons are accomplished online via the AirlineApps.
com web site. We select applicaons to review by several
methods. These include an inial computer based
screen to ensure compliance with our minimum
qualicaons, a random applicaon search by our
Applicaon Review Team, recommendaons from current
or rered Delta employees and pre-interview screening
by our Pilot Selecon Recruing Team at various job fairs
and convenons such as Women in Aviaon Internaonal
(WAI), the Organizaon of Black Aerospace Professionals
(OBAP) and the Naonal Gay Pilots Associaon (NGPA).
C: Can you explain the point system associated with online
applicaon process and what types of things count for
points?
A: Once a candidate’s applicaon has been selected for review
through the process listed above, the online applicaon is
reviewed and scored by two separate Delta pilots. We
do not use computer scoring except to ensure that a
candidate meets or exceeds all of our employment criteria.
Our pilot review team evaluates and scores the elements
that we believe are most indicave of a highly movated
and competent pilot who will be capable of excelling as a
Delta Air Lines pilot and leader. The areas that we evaluate
in this applicaon review are:
1. Educaon
2. Flight training record including all checkrides and
FAA events
3. Flight experience and progression
4. Employment experience
5. Accuracy and completeness of the enre
applicaon
At the conclusion of this review we invite the most
compeve candidates to parcipate in the interview
process at our World Headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia.
C: What can an applicant do to increase their chances of
being called for an interview?
A: The most eecve acon every candidate can take is
to ensure the accuracy and completeness of their
AirlineApps applicaon. Candidates should thoroughly
review all entries on their applicaon and then ensure
that the applicaon is updated as necessary to ensure its
connued accuracy. As a minimum, acve candidates
must update their applicaons at least once every 60
days so that it remains current in our system. We also
encourage candidates to print their applicaon, review
it themselves once again and then ask a close friend or
relave to review it to ensure its accuracy. (Note: there is
no spell checker in AirlineApps but candidates may cut and
paste responses using MS Word to ensure correct grammar
and spelling.)
C: How crical is it to aend a job fair to get an interview?
A: Aendance at convenons such as WAI, OBAP or NGPA
provide opportunies for candidates to become known to
our recruitment team and that frequently leads to an
applicaon review by our team of reviewers if the
candidate meets or exceeds our employment criteria.
We do not conduct interviews or applicaon evaluaons at
any convenon or job fair but we are able to assess whether
or not a candidate meets or exceeds our employment
criteria. If a candidate appears well qualied, they are
recommended for an applicaon review by our recruitment
team. The review of a candidate’s AirlineApps applicaon
by our trained Delta pilot review team is the only process
that we employ to determine if an applicant is selected for
an interview invitaon.
C: What is the best way to prepare for an interview with your
company?
A: We provide a study guide and a list of reference material
for each candidate when we send them an invitaon
to interview. In addion, we recommend that all candidates
seriously consider why they want to become a Delta pilot
since we realize that each airline has its own unique culture
and operang philosophy in addion to eet plans, route
structure and pilot domiciles. Employment is a two way
street and we want all of our employees to be enthusiasc
about their career at Delta Air Lines. Our employee’s
competence and enthusiasm fuels our success.
Interview:
C: Do you recommend that applicants get to your headquarters
city the day before and get a hotel room for the night?
A: Delta provides posive space roundtrip travel for all pilot
applicants who travel to Atlanta from a domesc United
States city where Delta provides scheduled service. It
would be imperave for all out of town candidates to
arrive in Atlanta on the day before their scheduled
interview since they must report for their interview
between 0715 and 0745 on the morning of the interview.
C: Can you walk me through a typical day of interviews?
A: The interview process begins as soon as the applicant
arrives at the Pilot Selecon oce at Delta’s World
Headquarters campus. Each candidate will be greeted by
one of our Candidate Care Specialists who will collect all
of their required records and invite them to check their
posted schedule in the waing area where they can also
enjoy some Delta snacks, Starbucks coee, tea or Dasani
boled water.
22 | Aero Crew News Back to Contents
At 0800 the candidates are welcomed by the Manager -
Pilot Selecon who briefs the candidates for the next 30
minutes on what to expect throughout the interview day.
This brieng focuses on reducing the candidate’s stress
level and on ensuring they understand exactly how the
process will unfold, the elements of the interview and
computer tesng and what will be required to successfully
receive a Condional Job Oer (CJO) at the conclusion of
the Day 1 process.
At 0830 all of the candidates begin either interviewing
or tesng. Half of the candidates will interview in the
morning and half will complete the computer tesng. The
groups switch acvies following lunch and they are all
briefed on the results of their eorts around 1530.
The interview team is comprised of one Human Resources
representave, one acve Delta seniority list pilot and
one rered Delta pilot. The computer tesng has three
parts which consist of a cognive skills test, a personality
test and a job knowledge test. All successful applicants
are given a CJO and required to return the next day to
accomplish the MMPI psychological test and complete an
interview with a psychologist.
C: What kind of quesons can an applicant expect to be
asked?
A: During the panel interview the team rst engages
the candidate in a discussion based on their applicaon.
They discuss the various elements of their educaon, ight
training and experience and their employment history
with an emphasis on all aviaon employment. Following
this discussion the panel interviewers ask a series of
aviaon related situaonal and behavioral quesons
designed to determine a candidate’s ability to exercise
good judgment, provide leadership and make sound
decisions concurrent with the safety of the ight.
C: What are some of the biggest mistakes that applicants
make during the interview process?
A: Candidates should focus on the quesons being asked and
use their knowledge, training and experience to provide
the most arculate answers to the panel’s quesons.
Gouged answers are rarely eecve responses due to
overuse, lack of originality, and the inability of the
candidate to respond to follow-up quesons which are a
primary tool employed by the panel to determine the
independent thinking, judgment and decision making
capabilies of the candidate.
Wrien test:
C: Is there a wrien or computer test?
A: There is a three part computer based test. The tests
include a cognive skills test, psychological test and an
aviaon related job knowledge test.
C: What can you recommend applicants study for that test?
At what point is this test taken?
A: The computer tesng takes approximately 2 ½ hours to
complete and is accomplished either during the morning
or aernoon of the Day 1 interview process. The only
test that candidates can eecvely prepare themselves for
is the job knowledge test. We provide an outline of the
subject areas included in the test and a list of reference
materials which the candidates may use to prepare for this
test when we send them the invitaon to interview.
Simulator Evaluaon:
C: Do you have a simulator ride?
A: No
Post Interview:
C: Do you tell applicants they are hired in person that day?
A: Yes, at the conclusion of the Day 1 interview and computer
tesng process the Manager – Pilot Selecon personally
meets with every candidate to either award a Condional
Job Oer (CJO) or explain to the candidate which poron
of the process, interview or tesng, was not successful.
Successful Day 1 candidates who are awarded a CJO are
required to return for our Day 2 tesng which includes
compleng the MMPI test and a face to face interview
with a psychologist. A candidate is required to successfully
complete both the Day 1 and Day 2 process to be eligible
for employment as a Delta pilot.
C: How soon can an applicant expect a class date aer being
hired?
A: Candidates are normally oered a training class date
within 60 sixty days of their CJO award although excepons
due to increased training demands or simulator availability
may adjust this me frame in either direcon.
General:
C: How many pilots does your airline expect to hire this year?
A: We ancipate hiring between 700-900 pilots in calendar
year 2016. We ancipate the higher number due to
increased aircra purchases. In both 2014 and 2015 we
placed in training over 900 new hire pilots.
C: Does Delta Air Lines have a pilot referral program?
A: Delta welcomes pilot referrals from all acve or rered
Delta employees. An employee referral will result in
a candidate’s applicaon being reviewed and evaluated
by our Applicaon Review Team however it does not
guarantee an interview. Only candidates whose applicaon
review scores place them among our most compeve
candidates are extended an invitaon to interview.
Employee referrals simply guarantee that a candidate’s
applicaon will be reviewed and evaluated!
C: Can you describe the career path program that Delta Air
Lines has with Endeavor Air?
A: Pilots who are currently being hired by our subsidiary,
Endeavor Air, are eligible for a guaranteed Delta interview
aer complying with all of Endeavors criteria and
also Delta’s employment criteria. Pilots complying with
these requirements will be invited to parcipate in the
normal Delta pilot interview process.
