Reported Using Data from the 2022 - 2023 School Year
Published During 2023 - 2024

Principal: Marianne Williams Grade Span: K-6
By February 1 of each year, every school in California is required by state law to publish a School Accountability Report
Card (SARC). The SARC contains information about the condition and performance of each California public school.
Under the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) all local educational agencies (LEAs) are required to prepare a Local
Control Accountability Plan (LCAP), which describes how they intend to meet annual school-specific goals for all pupils,
with specific activities to address state and local priorities. Additionally, data reported in an LCAP is to be consistent with
data reported in the SARC.
For more information about SARC requirements, see the California Department of Education (CDE) SARC Web
page at http://www.cde.ca.gov/ta/ac/sa/
For more information about the LCFF or LCAP, see the CDE LCFF Web page at http://www.cde.ca.gov/fg/aa/lc/
For additional information about the school, parents and community members should contact the school principal or
the district office.
DataQuest
DataQuest is an online data tool located on the CDE DataQuest Web page at http://dq.cde.ca.gov/dataquest/ that
contains additional information about this school and comparisons of the school to the district and the county. Specifically,
DataQuest is a dynamic system that provides reports for accountability (e.g., test data, enrollment, high school graduates,
dropouts, course enrollments, staffing, and data regarding English learners.
California School Dashboard
The California School Dashboard (Dashboard) https://www.caschooldashboard.org/ reflects California’s new
accountability and continuous improvement system and provides information about how LEAs and schools are meeting
the needs of California’s diverse student population. The Dashboard contains reports that display the performance of
LEAs, schools, and student groups on a set of state and local measures to assist in identifying strengths, challenges, and
areas in need of improvement.
Internet Access
Internet access is available at public libraries and other locations that are publicly accessible (e.g., the California State
Library). Access to the Internet at libraries and public locations is generally provided on a first-come, first-served basis.
Other use restrictions may include the hours of operation, the length of time that a workstation may be used (depending
on availability), the types of software programs available on a workstation, and the ability to print documents.

School Description and Mission Statement (School Year 2023 - 2024)
I am honored to serve as the proud principal of John Ehrhardt Elementary. John Ehrhardt Elementary is an
AVID-Advancement Via Individual Determination school committed to closing the opportunity gap by preparing all students
for college, career, and life readiness and success in a global society. We are a community dedicated to providing a
well-rounded education in a safe environment that is academically challenging and nurturing to all students. In recognition
of our work, we have been honored twice as a Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports (PBIS) Silver Level by the
California PBIS Coalition. This recognition reflects our school's success in creating positive and rigorous learning for our
students. The rigor and breadth of the instructional program, the safety of the campus, and the warmth of the learning
environment are the key components in ensuring success for each child in meeting the standards for their grade. Our
success in implementing our mission is further evidenced by our school's unique strengths, including a commitment to
meeting each child's needs through differentiated instruction within the classroom, a dedicated "WIN-What I Need"
differentiation block each day, and communication with parents in ways that allow them to partner with the school to
improve their child's performance.
We pride ourselves on family and community engagement. Our families are encouraged to join us for themed Family
Nights, Lunch on the Quad, or after-school events. The Parent Teacher Organization and parent advisories provide
additional opportunities for involvement. Parent volunteers serve as essential support for the development of programs and
policies that benefit our students. Parents also support student success by providing space, time, and encouragement for
daily homework, and by regular on-time school attendance.
The physical and emotional safety of our students is a school-wide priority. Social-emotional learning and Positive
Behavior and Interventions support our students as they are safe, responsible, and respectful. Citizenship and academic
success are celebrated at assemblies, with Eagle tickets and weekly prize drawings. The atmosphere of the school and
welcoming staff makes our students feel comfortable and secure. Our school is also fortunate to have an outstanding staff
and community who support each other in every aspect.

School Facility Conditions and Planned Improvements (School Year 2023 - 2024)
Our school has 38 classrooms which also include our four Level 2 Self-contained Classrooms, a multipurpose room, a
library, one computer lab, a Learning Center, an academic intervention classroom, and an administration building. The
main campus was built in 1991. Additions were constructed in 2000 and 2008.
The LEA takes great efforts to ensure that all schools are clean, safe, and functional. To assist in this effort, the LEA uses
a facility survey instrument developed by the State of California Office of Public School Construction. The results of this
survey are available at the district office. Included is information from the facility survey instrument on the condition of the
school and the efforts made to ensure that students are provided with a clean, safe, and functional learning environment.
Our school received an "Exemplary" status based on the State's definitions for each of the eight categories evaluated,
which is the highest rating possible.

The district takes great efforts to ensure that all schools are clean, safe, and functional. Daily, the custodial team provides
maintenance from 6:00 am - 10:00 pm. During these hours the school facilities are thoroughly cleaned, the classrooms are
inspected, the playground is maintained, and the restrooms are checked hourly. District maintenance staff ensures that the
repairs necessary to keep the school in good working order are completed promptly. A work order process is used to
ensure efficient service and that emergency repairs are given the highest priority. The district governing board has adopted
cleaning standards for all schools in the district. A summary of these standards is available at the school office or the
district Facilities Department.
The State Deferred Maintenance Program (DMP) was established in 1980 to aid districts in major maintenance projects.
Beginning with the 2013-2014 fiscal year and the inception of the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) the State has
intended for Deferred Maintenance needs and expenses to be included in the District's LCFF allotment. The district
continues to fund routine projects previously considered as part of the State's former DMP at levels required by the State
and continues to use local resources.
During the summer of 2024, John Ehrhardt Elementary is scheduled to undergo a campus refresh which will include
classroom upgrades (deep cleaning, flooring replacement, lighting upgrades, and acoustical ceiling tile replacement). In
addition to the classroom upgrades, the flooring in the multi-purpose room will be replaced, and the entire exterior of the
campus will be repainted.

State Priority: Pupil Achievement
The SARC provides the following information relevant to the Pupil Achievement State Priority (Priority 4):
Statewide assessments (i.e., California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress [CAASPP] System, which
includes the Smarter Balanced Summative Assessments for students in the general education population and the
California Alternate Assessment [CAA] for English language arts/literacy [ELA] and mathematics given in grades three
through eight and grade eleven. Only eligible students may participate in the administration of the CAA. CAA items are
aligned with alternate achievement standards, which are linked with the Common Core State Standards [CCSS] for
students with the most significant cognitive disabilities).
The CAASPP System encompasses the following assessments and student participation requirements:
Smarter Balanced Summative Assessments and CAA for ELA in grades three through eight and grade eleven.1.
Smarter Balanced Summative Assessments and CAA for mathematics in grades three through eight and
grade eleven.
2.
California Science Test (CAST) and CAA for Science in grades five, eight, and once in high school (i.e., grade
ten, eleven, or twelve).
3.
College and Career Ready: The percentage of students who have successfully completed courses that satisfy the
requirements for entrance to the University of California and the California State University, or career technical
education sequences or programs of study.

School Safety Plan (School Year 2023 - 2024)
At John Ehrhardt, we are committed to providing a safe, secure environment for learning. The Comprehensive Safe School
Plan was updated, revised, and reviewed with Staff in October. An "Emergency Handbook", outlining a plan of action for
emergencies such as earthquakes, fires, floods, intruders, and chemical spills, is kept in the school office. Teachers have
been provided with an emergency backpack stocked with emergency supplies. Drills practicing appropriate responses to
fire, and earthquake, evacuations are held on a regular schedule. The district's Police Services Department works closely
with our school site to provide a safe, secure environment for all students. We provide student supervision 15 minutes
before and after school. All visitors are required to sign in at the front office and wear badges while on campus. All gates
are locked during school hours.

We have highly qualified teachers and paraprofessionals to assist students with special learning needs including autistic
students and students with multiple disabilities. We have four self-contained classes on our campus. Our Learning Center
staff serves special education students who need additional support to meet academic standards. Additionally, our
Academic Intervention Teachers provide targeted support in reading and math to identified students working below grade
level. Gifted and accelerated students participate in accelerated learning within the classroom and an after-school
extended day program. Our Eagle Academy After School program provides homework assistance and enrichment
activities. Ehrhardt has a strong student leadership program where students plan school spirit days, and community
service projects and support PBIS, character education, and other school events.

Professional Development
Our school and district offer a variety of professional learning opportunities for teachers, instructional aides, and
non-instructional support staff. For 2023-2024, our district and our school have offered professional learning opportunities
in the areas of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, our board-adopted curriculum Reading Wonders, EnVision, Amplify Science
and Impact (Social Studies/History), High-Quality Instruction, and Illuminate. Additionally, our teachers received training on
AVID strategies, Character Strong, the newly adopted Social Emotional Learning Curriculum, and professional learning to
support building strong connections with students, families, and other staff members. Each week, our grade-level teams
also meet to refine their instructional practice based on student data. Special education teachers are provided numerous
opportunities to learn how to best meet the needs of students with learning disabilities. New teachers, who have been
teaching for fewer than two years, are supported by the district’s beginning teacher program. They meet weekly with an
experienced mentor to discuss their successes and challenges and new ideas for their classrooms. Finally, the district
offers a variety of classes for support staff. Instructional aides, school secretaries, office clerks, and custodians may take
classes relating to their work.
