What is Junior Giants?
Free: No fees or fundraising
Noncompetitive: No keeping score
Coed: Boys and girls play together
Character Development: Words of
the Week focusing on Health,
Education and Bullying Prevention
Big Picture
Junior Giants is a program of the Giants
Community Fund.
This league is hosted by the City of
Rohnert Park Community Service
Department.
Divisions
Here are our divisions:
T-ball Baseball: 5-6 years old
Minors Baseball: 7-9 years old
Minors Softball: 7-9 years old
Majors Baseball: 10-13 years old

Each team will have (1) practice and (1)
game per week.
Games will be on

Thursdays

If your child doesn’t have a glove or has outgrown
theirs, we will have some!

Junior Giants Festival
If your player’s entire team completes the
Round the Bases Reading Program, they’ll
all be invited to the Junior Giants Festival on
Sunday, August 7.
The Festival is a chance to play on the field
at Oracle Park and go through fun stations
related to the Words of the Week!
The deadline for teams to complete the
reading program to qualify is Saturday,
July 16.
Education: Scholarship
Players going into 8
th
grade should apply
for the Harmon & Sue Burns
Scholarship.
(10) recipients are selected each
season.
Scholars receive a $5,000 scholarship,
custom jersey and support/special
events throughout high school.
The scholarship is available on the
Junior Giants app and is due on July 17.

You will have the opportunity to
earn tickets to a Giants game
through taking an end of season

Your player(s) age 8 and older may
also be interviewed about their Junior
Giants experience by the
Ambassador at the end of the
season.
There are no tickets associated with
player interviews.

Come to every practice and game so
your child can get the most out of the
season.
Do your best to arrive on time.
Let your coach/team parent know in
advance if you’ll be missing a day.
Be a present parent at the field.
Volunteer
We don’t ask for any financial
support, but we do need your time!
We provide Practice Plans and
training.
There are roles for everyone.

Follow the Season Road Map
and talk about the Word of the
Week at home. Encourage your
child to participate.
Code of Ethics
Cheer for both teams!
Do not use inappropriate language,
jokes, and refrain from repeating
stereotypes or voicing prejudiced
thoughts.
Do not demean coaches, players, etc.
Do not use tobacco/cannabis/alcohol at
the fields.
Policies: Weather
We may face weather that affects
our ability to play outside (smoke,
heat, rain, etc.).
If we need to cancel a practice or
game, here’s how we will let you
know: League will send out a
league wide email by 3:30pm
